I grew up in Fort Collins and attended the old Fort Collins High School on Remington Street. I got my Bachelor's degree in Biology from Colorado State University. I then attended Medical School at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, graduating with Honors in 1993. There I met and married the love of my life - Dr. Audrey Tool. We completed our Ob Gyn Residency training at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque in 1997. I joined the Navy during medical school and was assigned to the U.S. Naval Hospital Guam while Audrey worked at Guam Memorial Hospital. Our son, Ryan, was born on Guam, so we like to refer to him as our "Guamaniac." We returned to the mainland and settled back in my hometown of Fort Collins in 2000, where we both joined the Fort Collins Women's Clinic. Our daughter, Karalyn, was born at Poudre Valley Hospital in 2002. I have had the opportunity to go on several medical mission trips to Tenwek Hospital in Kenya. The first was with a mentor, Dr. Larry Kieft, who himself made over 15 mission trips! I also enjoy fly fishing with friends and family, ice hockey, and "Ranch Life." I love to fly fish, scuba dive, and find uses for my tractor.
